Mackenzie began her career designing HVAC systems for projects where efficiency wasn’t always a priority. That experience gave her valuable perspective and inspired her to shift toward sustainable building design with Staengl Engineering. Based remotely in Atlanta, she now applies her mechanical engineering and project management expertise on projects ranging from multi-family residential buildings to commercial renovations.

As a passionate sailor, Mackenzie draws inspiration from the off-grid, self-sustaining nature of sailing trips. She also admits that her personal mission to stay cool in the southern heat sometimes doubles as professional motivation when considering occupant comfort and efficient systems.
